GENERAL CONCERNS

Do you have to be a certain age to have Rhinoplasty?
The operation can be done from about 14 to 15 years old.

Can I choose to have the nose of another person?
No, each nose is totally individual. There exists an aesthetic balance of the face and it is the surgeon’s duty to maintain that balance and conserve your natural appearance. With each case there is a duty to meticulously study the face to obtain the best shape for each person. If you are a realist and you do not want to pretend to be someone else or to be treated differently, then the results can be very satisfactory.

What factors are important for the best result?
There are many factors that affect the result of the operation this is due to how big is the deformity and how the internal structures can be modified.

There is no pain but it is the pressure of the swelling that generally produces some discomfort.

How am I after the operation?
One the first day after surgery it is normal to notice a light blood loss from the nostrils. The swelling of the face begins with some bruises around the eyes. This may increase during the next 2 to 3 days but when the doctor removes the nasal plug you will feel much better.

Afterwards you will be left with a plaster and swelling that will improve as the days pass and you will begin to look normal.
